College Football: Kentucky Sports Radio.com reports University of Kentucky safety Ashely Lowery was released from a Georgia hospital Thursday and is at his home in Covington, GA. Lowery was injured in a traffic accident early last Saturday morning.
College Basketball: Austin Peay is adding a walk on for next season’s team. A news release from the school says 6-6 front court player Josh Ledbetter from Shepherd, Michigan will join the team next season. Ledbetter averaged almost 15 points and 9 rebounds during his senior year at Shepherd High. He had six 20 point games during his senior season.
MLB: The Cincinnati Reds open a weekend series with the Milwaukee Brewers this evening at Great American Ballpark, with pre game coverage at 5:40 on News/Talk WHOP.
Other National League games have St. Louis taking on Colorado, the Chicago Cubs meet Washington and the Atlanta Braves are at San Francisco.
NBA: There’s two games on the playoff schedule this evening. Chicago and Miami continue their Eastern Conference series tied 1-1. In the Western Conference, San Antonio and Golden State play game three with the series tied 1-1.
NHL: Four games comprise this evening’s playoff action. Eastern Conference action has Toronto skating at Boston where the Bruins lead 3-1 and the NY Rangers are at Washington where the series is tied 2-2.
Western Conference action has Anaheim at Detroit and Los Angeles hosts St. Louis. The Ducks and Kings lead those series 3-2, respectively.
NFL: The Tennessee Titans announced Thursday they have agreed to contract terms with 15 undrafted college free agents. Among those signed include Western Kentucky tight end Jack Doyle and Murray State receiver Dontel Watkins.
