The Oregonian and television station KATU in Portland report documents released by the University of Oregon show major violations were committed by the University of Oregon’s football program. The alleged violations center around Will Lyles, who ran a recruiting and scouting service. Lyles reportedly had impermissible contacts and phone calls with recruits. However, the documents also stated there was no finding of lack of institutional control and no finding of unethical conduct.
Most of the alleged violations happened during the tenure of former Ducks coach Chip Kelly, now the head coach of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles. Oregon will appear before the NCAA of infractions sometime this year.
