Heritage Christian Academy will honor its Kentucky Christian Athletic Association state championship boys basketball team. The ceremony will take place Wednesday morning at 8 in Warrior Gym. A number of local officials are expected to be on hand for the event.
The Louisville Cardinals will try to become the third overall number one seed and the second in as many years to win college basketball’s national championship this evening. The Cardinals meet Michigan in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome, with pre game coverage beginning around 7 pm on News/Talk WHOP.
Meanwhile, Louisville’s women will be in the national championship game tomorrow night in New Orleans. The Cardinals rallied from a 10 point halftime deficit to defeat California 64-57 in one national semifinal, while Connecticut rolled over Notre Dame in the other semifinal 83-65. College Football: Kentucky is in its last week of spring practice leading up to Saturday night’s Blue/White game at Commonwealth Stadium. Coach Mark Stoops will have his first call in show Wednesday night at 6 on Lite 98.7, with pre game coverage of the Blue/White game Saturday night beginning at 5:30 also on Lite 98.7.
College Baseball: Austin Peay dropped its second game in an OVC weekend series with Tennessee Tech Sunday, losing 12-4. The Governors begin a six game road trip Tuesday at nationally ranked Kentucky.
Murray State lost in the series finale at Eastern Illinois 16-6. The Breds return to action Wednesday afternoon hosting Evansville.
Western Kentucky lost its series finale at Arkansas State Sunday afternoon 5-3.
College Softball: Murray State split a doubleheader with Morehead State Sunday, losing the opener 9-2 and winning the nightcap 9-4. Austin Peay was swept in a doubleheader by Eastern Kentucky 3-1 and 6-1.
Minor League Baseball: The Bowling Green Hot Rods salvaged a series split with South Bend, winning Sunday 5-0. The Hot Rods play their home opener this evening, hosting Lansing at 7:05.
The Nashville Sounds split their series with New Orleans, falling 3-1 Sunday. The Sounds begin a series with Oklahoma City tonight at Greer Stadium at 7:05.
NHL: The Nashville Predators lost at Chicago Sunday 5-3. The Predators face the St. Louis Blues tomorrow night at 7 in Bridgestone Arena.
