High School Basketball
Boys regional tournament action begins across the state this evening.
2nd region at Hopkinsville: Hopkinsville plays Webster County at 6, followed by Madisonville and Lyon County. Coverage of both games begins with the Heritage Bank pre game show at 5:45 on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM and worldwide at whopam.com.
4th region at WKU: Russellville meets Allen County Scottsville and Russell County goes against Greenwood.
1st region at Murray State: Calloway County plays Paducah Tilghman and Carlisle County goes against St. Mary.
3rd region at Owensboro Sportscenter: Butler County meets Owensboro Catholic and Muhlenberg County plays Breckinridge County.
College Basketball: Kentucky coach John Calipari has his weekly call in show at 5 this evening, followed by Big Blue Weekly at 6 on Lite 98.7. The Wildcats play again Wednesday night against Mississippi State, with pre game at 5:30 also on Lite 98.7.
Top 25 games this evening have 8th ranked Syracuse at 20th ranked Marquette, 9th ranked Kansas at Iowa State and 13th ranked Kansas State hosts Texas Tech.
MLB: WHOP Radio is proud to announce its affiliation with the Cincinnati Reds for the upcoming season. Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM will carry around 100 games during the course of the season, beginning with spring training action Saturday as the Reds take on the Chicago White Sox, with airtime at 1:50 pm.
Cactus League action includes Cincinnati hosting Milwaukee and the Chicago Cubs meet the LA Dodgers. Grapefruit League play includes St. Louis playing Houston and Atlanta meets the NY Yankees.
NHL: After getting shut out in consecutive games the Nashville Predators will try to get something going on offense when they host the Dallas Stars this evening at Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators have gone 120 minutes without a goal since Shea Weber scored the
overtime winner in Tuesday's 4-3 decision against the visiting Detroit Red
Wings. First puck drops at 7 pm.
