High School Basketball Boys regional tournament action begins across the state this evening. 2nd region at Hopkinsville: Hopkinsville plays Webster County at 6, followed by Madisonville and Lyon County. Coverage of both games begins with the Heritage Bank pre game show at 5:45 on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM and worldwide at whopam.com. 4th region at WKU: Russellville meets Allen County Scottsville and Russell County goes against Greenwood. 1st region at Murray State: Calloway County plays Paducah Tilghman and Carlisle County goes against St. Mary. 3rd region at Owensboro Sportscenter: Butler County meets Owensboro Catholic and Muhlenberg County plays Breckinridge County. Heritage Christian Academy’s Lady Warriors have earned their way to the KCAA State Tournament later this week. KCAA.com reports the Lady Warriors defeated Micah 60-56 to earn the right to play Community Christian Thursday evening at 8 Hopkinsville time at Asbury College. College Basketball-Sunday’s scores Women’s SEC action saw 8th ranked Kentucky lose to LSU 77-72, 11th ranked Tennessee defeated Arkansas 60-54 and Vanderbilt upset 10th ranked Texas A&M 61-51. 12th ranked Louisville defeated Villanova 55-49. Tonight’s lone area game is a women’s OVC matchup between Murray State and Morehead State. Kentucky coach John Calipari has his weekly call in show at 5 this evening, followed by Big Blue Weekly at 6 on Lite 98.7. The Wildcats play again Wednesday night against Mississippi State, with pre game at 5:30 also on Lite 98.7. College Baseball: Austin Peay completed a three game sweep of their series with Illinois State, winning 6-4 on Sunday. Murray State completed a sweep of Bowling Green with a 8-6 win and Western Kentucky got a 4-2 win over Central Michigan. College Softball: Murray State won the Arkansas Invitational Sunday, defeating Louisiana Monroe in the championship game 10-2 after defeating St. Louis 7-4 in 9 innings. Former Christian County standout Casey Castille went 1-5 with a home run and 3 rbi against St. Louis and 2-3 with a home run and 2 rbi against Louisiana Monroe. The Lady Racers are 4-5 on the season. 20th ranked Kentucky won over Howard 14-0 and defeated USC Upstate in 11 innings 12-8 at the Coke Zero Spartan Classic Sunday in Spartanburg, SC. Former Christian County standout Griffin Joiner was 2-5 with a home run and 3 rbi in the win over USC Upstate. Kentucky is now 11-3 on the season. MLB: WHOP Radio is proud to announce its affiliation with the Cincinnati Reds for the upcoming season. Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM will carry around 100 games during the course of the season, beginning with spring training action Saturday as the Reds take on the Chicago White Sox, with airtime at 1:50 pm.
