WKU COACH RECEIVES NOTICE OF ALLEGATIONS 2/20/13

The Miami Herald reported today that Western Kentucky University assistant men's basketball coach Jake Morton has been served with a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA.  Morton--who is WKU's director of basketball operations--was an assistant at Miami when some improprities occured between 2007-2009.  The notice points out the allegations involved a former booster Nevin Shapiro.  The allegations involved recruiting of athletes and that Morton accepted a sum of $6,000 from Shapiro.  A letter sent to WKU President Gary Ransdell indicated action against Morton could limit his athletically related duties at Western for a designated period of time if Morton is found in violation.
