College Basketball: The Lexington Herald Leader reports one of college basketball’s most tradition laden rivalries will continue in the 2013-14 season. Kentucky and North Carolina will renew their series in Chapel Hill next season, with the 2014-15 game to be played at Rupp Arena. Kentucky has won three of the last four meetings, but North Carolina leads the all time series 22-13.

Big East commissioner Mike Aresco says he wants to add a 12^th school in both football and basketball to their league. ESPN reports Aresco made the comments while speaking at a breakfast today in Middletown, Connecticut. Aresco says the league wants to keep its name as it rebrands and add another football and basketball school after Navy comes into the league in the 2015. He also says that conference realignments may be settling down.

NFL: The Baltimore Raves are to arrive in New Orleans today to begin preparations for next Sunday’s Super Bowl 47 game against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers arrived in the Crescent City last night.

Meanwhile, the video game Madden NFL 13 has staged a simulated game between the Ravens and 49ers, with the AFC champs winning 27-24, with Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco earning MVP honors.

A new report in USA Today says NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s approval rating has taken a hit. 300 players were polled, with 61 percent diapproving Goddell’s job performance. Most of the criticism is around the commissioner’s handling of the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal and the overall increase in fines for hits on defenseless players.

Golf: The United States Golf Association announced today Winged Foot Golf Club outside New York City will host the 2020 US Open. The last time Winged Foot hosted the Open was 2006, when Phil Mickelson collapsed down the stretch, missing his best chance to win the national championship. The 2020 event will mark the 12^th time Winged Foot has hosted the event, making it the 6^th course to host that many US Opens.
