The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has announced the opening round pairings for the 2013 Boys and Girls Sweet 16 basketball tournaments.

The Boys Tournament will be played March 6-10 at Lexington's Rupp Arena.  Regions 1 and 3 will  play the first game of the evening session on Wednesday March 6th at 5:30 Hopkinsville time, followed by the 2nd region winner facing the 8th region represenative at 8 pm.  Region 4 will play the 10th region winner on Thursday March 7th at 11 am Hopkinsville time.

Quarterfinals are March 8, with the semi finals the evening of March 9 and the final March 10.

The Girls tournament will be played March 13-16 at EA Diddle Arena in Bowling Green on the WKU campus.  The 2nd region winner will face the region 8 winner at 6:30 Wednesday March 13, with the 4th region winner meeting the 5th region winner at noon that day.  The 3rd region winner will play the 12th region winner at 12 noon March 14th, with the 1st region winner playing the 14th region winner at 6:30 that evening.  The quarterfinals are March 15, with the semi finals and finals March 16.
