Boys: University Heights took on Crittenden County in a semi final game in the Touchstone Energy 2nd region All A Classic last night in Marion. The Blazers rolled to an easy 63-43 win over Crittenden County to move to this evening’s championship game. Webster County won the other semi final game over Caldwell County 49-40 .
Elsewhere: Hopkinsville rolled over Fort Campbell in 8th district action 85-45, Glasgow beat Russellville 57-47 in the 4th region All A final, Franklin Simpson slipped by Logan County 53-52, Dawson Springs over Christian Fellowship 55-45, Henderson County defeated Apollo 59-52, Muhlenberg County over Grayson County 70-50, Union County got by Hopkins Central 66-64, Mayfield over Heath 78-45 in a 1st region All A tournament semifinal, Warren Central over Greenwood 72-52, Bowling Green over Warren East 82-54.
Girls: Hopkinsville defeated Christian County in overtime 55-51 in 8th district action at Tiger Gym. Haley Cook had 19 points including 5 in the overtime to lead Hopkinsville to their 10th win of the season and a commanding 3-0 mark in 8th district play, Lexus Cabiness added 11 and Adrieonna Earthmann pitched in 10 for Hoptown. Christian County was lead by Dannika Prater’s 18 points and Jamesha Mosely with 17 in falling to 4-12 and 1-2 in district play.
Elsewhere: Henderson County defeated Marshall County 72-58, Calloway County edged Lone Oak 69-64, Muhlenberg County over Grayson County 71-54, Bowling Green defeated Warren East 78-29.

The Lexington Herald Leader reported Friday afternoon Kentucky freshman Willie Cauley-Stein had a minor procedure on his left knee to clean up an old injury. A UK spokesman says Cauley-Stein’s status for tonight’s game at Auburn is yet to be determined.
Junior Jon Hood of Madisonville was back in practice Friday after missing several weeks due to mono. Hood has played in eight games for the Wildcats this season.
NHL: The Nashville Predators open the strike shortened season this evening hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets, with first puck dropping at 7 in Bridgestone Arena. The Predators will play again Monday at 5 pm hosting the St. Louis Blues in a game you can hear on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree is running into a problem with the law at possibly the worst time. The "San Francisco Chronicle" reports that Crabtree is being investigated for an alleged sexual assault. Police have reportedly interviewed the 25-year-old about an incident involving a woman he allegedly assaulted on January 13th, hours after the Niners beat the Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs.
KTVU-TV reports that Crabtree is cooperating with the Special Victims Unit that is investigating the incident. As of now, Crabtree is expected to play.
PGA Tour: Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 33rd after two rounds of the Humana Challenge. Snedeker’s 9 under score is five shots behind co leaders Roberto Castro and James Hahn who are at 14 under par.
Paducah’s Russ Cochran fired an opening round 5 under par at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hawaii Friday. Cochran is two strokes behind the leader David Frost.
