Join Todd Hamilton for Sports Tonight at 5:08 this evening on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP. Guests include Michael Tobiason, who was on The Golf Channel Big Break-Greenbrier show last fall. Then at 7, it’s Slap Shot Radio with Pete Weber and Paul McCann. This evening’s guests include Gord Wilson, color commentator of the Ottawa Senators and TV broadcaster Darren Pang. High School Basketball Games were cancelled around the area due to the wintry conditions. One game that will be made up Thursday night sends Hopkinsville to Graves County for a 7:30 tip off, with the Heritage Bank pre game show at 7:15 on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP. Tonight’s games Boys: University Heights plays its first round game with Dawson Springs in the 2nd region All A Classic. The game begins at 7 at Blazer Gym. Other quarterfinal games which feature Livingston Central at Crittenden County, Webster County at Trigg County, and Caldwell County at Lyon County will also be played this evening. Russellville meets Cumberland County in one of the 4th region All A semifinal games, with Carlisle County meeting Hickman County and Mayfield and Murray playing in the 1st region All A semifinals at Paducah Tilghman. Girls: Glasgow plays Russellville in a semi final game in the 4th region All A tournament. Warren Central plays at South Warren. College Basketball Kentucky avoided back to back Southeastern Conference losses with a 75-65 win over Tennessee. Kyle Wiltjer led the Wildcats with 17 points, Nerlens Noel and Ryan Harrow each added 12 points. Tennessee was led by Jordan McRae’s game high 23 points. Kentucky returns to action Saturday at Auburn, with pre game coverage at 6:30 on Lite 98.7. Vanderbilt lost in overtime at Ole Miss 89-79. The Rebels Marshall Henderson hit a 35 foot three pointer at the end of regulation to send the game to the extra frame. Tonight’s games: LSU meets South Carolina. Women’s action has Western Kentucky hosting Louisiana’s Ragin Cajuns. College Football: Murray State quarterback Casey Brockman and offensive lineman Roderick Tomlin will team up one more time this weekend as they play on the Stars team at the Raycom College Football All Star classic. The game is set for Saturday at 2 pm in Montgomery, AL and can be seen on the CBS Sports Network. Western Kentucky coach Bobby Petrino announced the hiring Tuesday of Joe Miday as the Hilltoppers head strength and conditioning coach. Miday comes to Bowling Green from Marshall University where he has spent the past six seasons on the strength and conditioning staff. NFL: The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt will meet with New Jersey authorities today in connection with a stabbing and gunshot fired over the weekend where he grew up. Meanwhile, Britt’s father says his son is loyal to a fault to his friends and unfortunately the elder Britt says his son knows some people who do not make good decisions. He also said his son had nothing to hide and discounted statements that he was not cooperating with authorities. The elder Britt also commented that his son is learning to stay away from those who cause trouble. He says his son should either stay in Tennessee or go somewhere else other than New Jersey to get away from it all.
