NFL: Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy has told the team he is accepting the head coaching job of the San Diego Chargers. Sources say McCoy was offered the job today and has cancelled a visit to the Arizona Cardinals, where he was to meet with them a second time about their head coaching vacancy.
McCoy would become the second Broncos coordinator to take a head coaching job within the AFC West in the last two seasons. Former Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen was named Oakland Raiders head coach after the 2011 season.
MLB: The Cincinnati Reds will again bring their Reds Caravan to Greenwood Mall in Bowling Green. The event is set for Saturday, January 26th from 3:30-5:30 pm and will feature broadcaster Jeff Brantley, infielder Todd Frazier and 2012 minor league player of the year Billy Hamilton among others.
Meanwhile, the closest St. Louis Cardinals caravans to our area will be in Dyersburg, TN Sunday at noon and will feature Matt Adams, Sam Freeman and Michael Wacha, with the same group of players to also be at a stop in Cape Girardeau Monday at 6 pm.
