Boys: Christian County defeated Hopkins Central 80-71, Caldwell County over Community Christian 66-44, Ohio County defeated an Australian Travel Team 92-51, Mayfield edged St. Mary 47-46.

Girls: Muhlenberg County over Hopkinsville 72-44, Christian County rolled over Fort Campbell 68-46, Ohio County defeated an Australian Travel Team 78-41, Grayson County over South Warren 56-41.

Boys: Christian County entertains Hopkinsville in an 8^th district showdown at Colonel Gym. The game will also feature a ceremony honoring legendary coach Lyle Dunbar. Dunbar says he has fond memories of all of his players and coaches during his time at Christian County:

The Kentucky High School Athletics Association announced Thursday the start times for the Boys Sweet 16 semifinals and finals. The semifinals will begin March 9^th at 6:30 pm Hopkinsville time in Rupp Arena, with the final set for March 10^th at 1 pm.

The rearranging of the semi final and final games is due to a scheduling conflict with Kentucky’s game with Florida March 9^th. The Boys Sweet 16 will begin March 6^th. The pairings for the Boys and Girls Sweet 16 will be announced later this month.

College Basketball: It looked like Kentucky was going to breeze to its first SEC win in the first half, but Vanderbilt made a rally before the Wildcats hung on to win 60-58. Guard Ryan Harrow led the Wildcats with 16 points, Nerlens Noel had 13 and Archie Goodwin added 12. Kentucky returns to action tomorrow hosting Texas A&M, with pre game coverage at 1:30 on Lite 98.7.

Former Christian County standout Donovan Kates had three points in Manhattan’s 69-60 loss to Rider.

Women’s scores: 6^th ranked Kentucky edged 20^th ranked Texas A&M 65-62, 18^th ranked South Carolina defeated Vanderbilt 64-48, 9^th ranked Tennessee rolled over Missouri 84-39.

College Football: Kentucky governor Steve Beshear announced Thursday the approval of a $110 million measure that will allow for the renovation and upgrade to Commonwealth Stadium and the Nutter Football training facility on the University of Kentucky campus.

The renovation will include luxury suites, club seating, a multi purpose recruiting room and renovation of the press facilities. The renovation has a targeted completion date of July, 2015.

NFL: The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans linebackers coach Frank Bush was fired Thursday. Bush is the third assistant fired since the end of the season joining tight ends coach Jim Zerhelt and running backs coach Jim Skipper who were let go last week.

PGA Tour: Paducah’s Russ Cochran is tied for 27^th after the first round of the Sony Open in Hawaii. Cochran fired a two under par 68 and trails leader Scott Langley by six shots. Langley fired a 62 in his first round on the PGA Tour. The rookie takes a one stroke lead into today’s second round.
