MUNCHAK TO REMAIN AS TITANS COACH 12/31/12

Mike Munchak will get a third season as coach of the Tennessee Titans. The Tennessean reports that Titans owner Bud Adams said this morning said Munchak would return, however senior executive vice president Mike Reinfeldt will not be retained.

Munchak is 15-17 in two seasons as Titans coach, including a 6-10 record in the 2012 season which concluded Sunday.

Meanwhile  San Diego's Norv Turner and Arizona’s Ken Whisenhunt are the latest NFL head coaches to be fired.  There have been seven NFL head coaches fired so far on "Black Monday."  Philadelphia's Andy Reid, Cleveland's Pat Shurmur, Kansas City's Romeo Crennel, Chicago's Lovie Smith and Buffalo's Chan Gailey are also looking for new jobs. 

The Chargers also parted ways with general manager A.J. Smith, the Browns fired GM manager Tom Heckert, Jacksonville let go GM Gene Smith and the New York Jets fired GM Mike Tannenbaum, though Rex Ryan will stay as head coach.  The Arizona Cardinals have also fired general manager Rod Graves, according to multiple reports.  Other coaches rumored to be on the hot seat are Detroit's Jim Schwartz and Jacksonville's Mike Mularkey.
