Girls: Fort Campbell hosts Ohio County, Livingston Central hosts Carlisle County, Franklin Simpson welcomes Portland, TN.
Boys: Todd Central goes to Butler County, Logan County at Warren Central, Hopkins Central at McLean County, Livingston Central hosts Carlisle County, Franklin Simpson entertains Portland, TN, Lyon County welcomes Union County, South Warren hosts Daviess County, Muhlenberg County at Owensboro.
High School Wrestling: Christian County placed 8th this weekend at the Tiger Classic held at Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The Colonels will wrestle again Thursday and Friday at an event at Meade County High School.
College Basketball
Sunday scores: Isaiah Cannan scored 21 points as Murray State won its 5th straight game as the Racers defeated Western Kentucky 75-70. Ed Daniel added 16 points in the win for Murray State now 8-1 on the season. Western Kentucky was led in scoring by Brandon Harris career high 23 points. The Hilltoppers fall to 8-3 on the season.
Austin Peay lost at Arkansas State 69-57. The Governors were led in scoring by Travis Betran with 21 points in falling to 4-6 on the season.
Former Christian County standout Donovan Kates had 10 points and 5 rebounds in 37 minutes, but Manhattan lost to LIU-Brooklyn 75-48.
Women’s scores: Murray State won its 7th straight game in downing Alabama A&M 69-54. Western Kentucky defeated Southeast Missouri 60-46, Vanderbilt defeated 12th ranked Oklahoma 76-63, Tennessee defeated Texas 94-75.
Tonight’s games: Vanderbilt entertains Cornell Women’s games: Austin Peay plays at Arkansas State.
Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari has his weekly call in show at 5 this evening, followed by Big Blue Weekly at 6 on Lite 98.7.
The Courier Journal reports University of Louisville sophomore forward Angel Nunez is leaving the program. Nunez did not play a game for the Cardinals this season. Nunez declined to comment on why he was leaving the Louisville program.
NFL: The Tennessee Titans will appear on Monday Night Football this evening, hosting the New York Jets at LP Field. Kickoff is set for 7:20 pm.
