The show will originate from Toyota of Hopkinsville, who is sponsoring the Toyota of Hopkinsville Holiday Basketball Classic this weekend. Hear previews of the games from area coaches along with a visit with former UK basketball All America and current radio analyst Mike Pratt who was in Hopkinsville recently. High School Football: The Princeton Times Leader reports Caldwell County will tenatively open its 2013 football season against Christian County in week 0 in mid August. The game site has yet to be determined. It would be the first meeting since 1998, when the Tigers defeated the Colonels 21-14. College Football: Reports indicate Arkansas State will hold a news conference this afternoon to announce the Red Wolves new coach. Texas offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin is expected to be named to replace Gus Malzhan, who recently took the coaching position at Auburn. The Red Wolves were 9-3 this season, champions of the Sun Belt Conference and will play in the GoDaddy.com bowl in early January. Princeton native Tony Franklin has been named as offensive coordinator of the California Golden Bears. Franklin heads west with new coach Sonny Dykes, who has been at Louisiana Tech. Franklin had been Tech's offensive coordinator the last three seasons. Golf: Multiple reports indicate the PGA of America will name Tom Watson on Thursday as captain of the 2014 Ryder Cup team. Watson will be 65 when the Ryder Cup is played at Gleneagles, Scotland making him the oldest captain in US history. Watson says he has not been to a Ryder Cup since captaining the US team in 1993. He would be the first repeat captain since Jack Nicklaus in 1987. |
