Boys: An early 8^th district showdown takes place at Tiger Gym this evening as Hopkinsville hosts University Heights. Hopkinsville brings a 2-1 record into the contest, while UHA is 0-3 on the young season. Other games this evening include Fort Campbell hosts Trigg County while Caldwell County entertains Dawson Springs.

College Basketball

Manhattan defeated Sienna 75-55 with former Christian County standout Donovan Kates scoring eight points in the win for the Jaspers, who are now 3-5 on the season.

Women’s scores: 7^th ranked Kentucky rolled over Middle Tennessee 68-46, Western Kentucky defeated Kent State 59-53 and Austin Peay defeated St. Catherine 82-64.

Kentucky coach John Calipari has his call in show this evening at 5, followed by Big Blue Weekly at 6 on Lite 98.7. Kentucky returns to action Saturday hosting Lipscomb, with pre game coverage at 10 am on Lite 98.7.

Murray State basketball player Zay Jackson, who withdrew a guilty plea to hitting a couple in a parking lot in September, has been indicted again. The Paducah Sun reports Jackson was indicted late last week on one count of second degree assault and one count of wanton endangerment.

Jackson was originally charged with two counts of second degree assault but entered a guilty plea to lesser charges in exchange for a sentence that included a diversion program, which was rejected by the judge in the case.

College Football

Western Kentucky University has named defensive coordinator Lance Guidry to guide its football team in the upcoming Little Caesar’s Bowl game against Central Michigan. Guidry is serving as interim coach following Willie Taggart accepting the head coaching position at South Florida.

Multiple reports indicate that Kentucky could land Texas Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown as its new O-C as early as today. The Courier Journal also reports former Northwestern State head coach Bradley Dale Piveto and Tennessee assistant Darin Hinshaw will reportedly join the UK staff. Piveto would be the safeties coach and Hinshaw as wide receivers coach.

New Tennessee coach Butch Jones’s staff is starting to fall into place. The Knoxville News Sentinel reports Tommy Thigpen, a former assistant to Gene Chizik at Auburn, has reportedly been hired as linebackers coach and multiple reports indicate Tee Martin has an offer to return to Knoxville from Southern Cal as receivers coach.   It was also reported that one coach will be retained from Derek Dooley’s staff as Jay Graham will stay as running backs coach.

NFL: Adam Vinatieri nailed a pair of fourth quarter field goals as the Colts rallied past the Titans 27-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium.  Andrew Luck threw for 196 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Colts, who improved to 9-and-4 with their fifth straight home win.  Jake Locker finished 22-of-35 for 262 yards with a TD and two costly second half picks for Tennessee, which has lost three straight to fall to 4-and-9.  Kenny Britt had eight grabs for 143 yards in the setback.

A pair of AFC heavyweights clash this evening on "Monday Night Football" as the AFC South-leading Houston Texans meet the Patriots in New England.  Each team brings a six-game winning streak into the meeting, which will go a long way into deciding playoff seeds in the conference.   The two teams last met on the final week of the 2009 regular season with Houston grabbing victory, 34-27.

Golf: Franklin’s Kenny Perry and partner Sean O’ Hair birdied five of the last six holes to win the Franklin Templeton Shootout Sunday. Perry and O’ Hair finished the three day event hosted by Greg Norman at 31 under par, one shot better than Charles Howell III and Rory Sabbatini. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker and Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III finished at 27 under par, tied for 4^th place.
