Before coaching a game as Christian County boys basketball coach, Josh Smith has resigned his position. The Christian County Board of Education announced in a news release today that Smith has resigned both his coaching and teaching position, for health related reasons. Smith will be replaced on an interim basis for the season by top assistant Kyle Eades, who has worked under former coaches Kerry Stovall and Tyler Smithart. Christian County opens its season Friday night at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville. It was also announced in the Board of Education’s news release that Greg Glass will serve as interim coach of the softball team at CCHS. Glass, who had been an assistant, will fill the role of Jim Perrin, who recently passed away. The University of Kentucky has announced Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops will become the new football coach. Stoops is the younger brother of Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops. Mark Stoops defensive unit at FSU is among the top 10 teams in the nation in almost all defensive categories. Stoops will hold his first news conference as UK coach on Sunday. |
