College Football: Kentucky Sports Radio.com reported late Sunday night that Kentucky has reportedly narrowed the list in its search for a new football coach. The names listed are Mark Stoops—defensive coordinator at Florida State, Mike MacIntyre—head coach at San Jose State, Sonny Dykes—head coach at Louisiana Tech and Gary Andersen—head coach at Utah State. KSR speculates an offer could be made to one of these candidates sometime this week. Meanwhile, former University of Tennessee quarterback and Knoxville talk show host Eric Ainge said on Twitter that he is hearing from sources that Cincinnati’s Butch Jones will be offered the UK job some time this week. As the speculation continues, the outgoing coach Joker Phillips has his final call in show this evening at 5 on Lite 98.7. Former Fort Campbell standout and current Western Kentucky running back Antonio Andrews has been named the Sun Belt Conference offensive player of the week for the third time this season. Andrews rushed for 230 yards on 25 carries and scored the game winning touchdown against North Texas on Saturday. Andrews finished the day with 323 all purpose yards, the 4th time this season Andrews has surpassed 300 yards in a game. College Basketball: Kentucky coach John Calipari has his call in show this evening at 6 on Lite 98.7. Kentucky’s Archie Goodwin has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week. Goodwin averaged 25 points and 7.5 rebounds in wins over Morehead State and LIU-Brooklyn. The rookie had a career high 28 points in Kentucky’s win over Morehead State. Tonight’s action has Murray State at Lipscomb and Tennessee hosts Oakland University. Women’s play has Murray State hosting Lipscomb at the CFSB Center. There’s only one Top 25 game this evening as number 11 Kansas hosts San Jose State. NFL: Monday Night Football has the Carolina Panthers at the Philadelphia Eagles, with coverage at 7 on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
