SPORTS UPDATE 11/8/12

College Football: Another name being speculated for the soon to be vacant Kentucky football coaching job says he’s happy where he is. The Lexington Herald Leader reports Duke coach David Cutcliffe told the ACC media during it’s weekly teleconference Wednesday he loves where he is and hasn’t even mentioned to his players about the speculation. Cutcliffe has been a head coach in the SEC at Ole Miss and was once Tennessee’s offensive coordinator.

Top-25 action tonight features eighth-ranked Florida State in Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech in an ACC clash.  The Seminoles, who were idle last week, have won three straight games and are tied with Clemson atop the ACC's  Atlantic Division at 5-1.  The Hokies have lost two straight entering this contest.

College Basketball: The Kentucky Wildcats are en route to New York for their season opener against Maryland in the Barclays Center Classic Friday night. Before leaving this morning, Coach John Calipari said guard Ryan Harrow has the flu or something similar and did not practice, nor did Julius Mays, giving his knee tweaked in a pre season game a chance to rest.

Calipari also said if Harrow does not play, Archie Goodwin and Jarrod Polson could both see time at the point guard. Coverage of tomorrow night’s game begins at 6 on Lite 98.7.

NFL: Week 10 kicks off tonight, as the Indianapolis Colts travel to Jacksonville to take on the sputtering Jaguars in an AFC South matchup. The Colts improved to 5-3 on Sunday in a 23-20 triumph over the Miami Dolphins.

The Jaguars have dropped five straight since recording their only win of the season,  a 22-17 triumph at Indianapolis back in Week 3. Coverage of the game at 7 on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
