College Football:   Kentucky is searching for a new football coach following the firing of Joker Phillips Sunday. Athletics director Mitch Barnhart announced the firing via a letter to the UK fan base on the school’s athletics website, saying it was with a heavy heart that he would fire Phillips at the end of the current season. Barnhart went on to say the search for a replacement would begin immediately.

Phillips issued his own statement later Sunday saying coaches are measured on results, and that the results needed were not obtained and change was needed. Phillips thanked both Barnhart and former head coach Rich Brooks for providing the opportunity to be the head coach at Kentucky.
