Christian County High’s softball program is having a fund raising golf tournament tomorrow afternoon at 1 at Western Hills Golf Course, with lunch to be served at noon. Contact the pro shop for more information about playing in the event. A brief ceremony honoring coach Jim Perrin will be held before the event and you can make donations to the Jim Perrin Scholarship fund at the tournament. College Basketball: NBC Sports.com reports Andrew Wiggins has reclassified himself to graduate high school in the class of 2013. The Huntington(WV) Prep standout is now considered the top recruit in the nation. Kentucky is one of the top schools on the list for Wiggins’ services, along with Florida State where his dad Mitchell played. MLB: It’s a travel day in the World Series as the scene shifts from San Francisco to Detroit for game 3 Saturday night. The Giants lead the Tigers 2-0. Meanwhile, Detroit Mayor Dave Bing has faith in the Detroit Tigers' ability to win the World Series, even though they've lost the first two games to San Francisco. He says all that's changed is that the process of winning the World Series will take a little longer than he thought. The mayor says he gives credit to San Francisco, but quote, "it's time for our guys to wake up." Mayor Bing has a bet with the mayor of San Francisco. The mayor of the losing city has to perform a day of community service in the opponent's city. New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia had surgery Thursday to remove a small bone spur from his throwing elbow. Dr. James Andrews performed the procedure and says Sabathia is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2013 season. Sabathia went on the disabled list on August after experiencing soreness in the elbow, but came back to pitch 10 times before the end of the season, including three post season appearances. NFL: Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is sinking his financial teeth into the Denver marketplace. Papa John's announced today that the veteran quarterback will own 21 restaurants in the Denver area. Manning said investing in Papa John's is quote, "a smart investment now and will be long after I'm done playing football." Papa John's is the official pizza sponsor of the NFL and is the official pizza for 15 NFL teams.
