ESPN reports Mike Leake will get the start for the Cincinnati Reds in game four of their division series with San Francisco later this afternoon at Great American Ball Park. The Reds can win the series with a victory today as they lead 2-1.

The New York Yankees host Baltimore in game three of their series this evening at Yankee Stadium tied one game each and Oakland fights to stay alive in their series with Detroit, trailing 2-1.

Former Detroit Lions defensive tackle Alex Karras has died at age 77. Karras had been only given a few days to live after recently experiencing kidney failure. Karras died at his home surrounded by his family. Karras played 12 seasons in the NFL and was a four time Pro Bowl selection.

Following his playing career, Karras became an actor, appearing in the 1974 movie “Blazing Saddles” and also in the television series “Webster” in the 1980’s. He was also a commentator for a few seasons in the 1970’s on Monday Night Football.

Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan says his son Billy will become a member of the Gators basketball team this year. The younger Donovan is transferring from Catholic University and will be a walk on for the Gators this season.

Murray State quarterback Casey Brockman has received several weekly honors following his 38-43 performance for 455 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Racers win last week at Austin Peay. Brockman was not only named the Ohio Valley Conference offensive player of the week Sunday, he was also named the NCAA offensive player of the week, the Sports Network’s co-offensive player of the week and College Football Performance Awards National quarterback of the week.
