High School Football: Bluegrass Preps.com has released its weekly polls.

Class 5-A: Bowling Green is first, Warren Central 3^rd this week and Christian County is ranked 7^th.

Class 3-A: Louisville Central is number one, Paducah Tilghman is ranked 4^th and Fort Campbell 6^th.

Class 2-A: Somerset is number one, Owensboro Catholic 2^nd, Murray High is 6^th.

Class A:     Mayfield is at the top, with Russellville ranked 6^th.

Class 4-A: Highlands remains number one, with Lone Oak 5^th.

Class 6-A:   Trinity is number one, with Henderson County ranked 10^th.

College Football: The Knoxville News Sentinel reports the University of Tennessee has lost safety Brian Randolph for the remainder of the season. Randolph suffered a tear of the ACL in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s loss to Florida. The Vols host Akron Saturday in Knoxville.

College Basketball: A sculpture of former Kentucky coach Joe B. Hall was dedicated this morning at the Wildcat Coal Lodge. The bronze statue is located outside the facility honoring Coach Hall for his years as Kentucky coach. Hall was coach from 1972-1985 and had a record of 297-100 and one NCAA championship in 1978.

Kentucky is on the short list for a player who is leaving Rice University. 6-7 forward Arsalan Kazemi is the first Iranian born player to play Division One basketball. He averaged 12.1 points and 10.3 rebounds last season, one of only 21 players in D-1 to accomplish the feat.

Kazemi is a senior to be, but would likely not be eligible to play until the 2013-14 season. CBS Sports.com reports that along with UK, Texas, Oregon, Ohio State, Florida and Cincinnati are on Kazemi’s list of schools.

Murray State received its first commitment for 2013 Monday. West Kentucky Star.com reports point guard Cameron Payne of Memphis made his decision following a weekend visit to campus. Payne averaged 22 points a game during his junior year and was a finalist for Mr. Tennessee Basketball in Division 2-A. Payne chose Murray State over High Point, College of Charleston, Wichita State and Ohio University.

NFL: ESPN reports Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner was jailed on drunken driving and speeding charges early today, after scoring a touchdown in the Falcons 27-21 win over Denver Monday night. The 30-year-old Turner was jailed just after 5 am this morning and released on bond two hours later.

Investigators say Turner’s vehicle was going 97 mph on Interstate 85 north of Atlanta. The Falcons will not have any comment until they conclude gathering information.

The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak will stay with second year quarterback Jake Locker as the Titans signal caller, despite the Titans dismal running game the first two games of the season.  The 0-2 Titans host 1-1 Detroit Sunday at noon in LP Field.
