SPORTS UPDATE 8/31/12

Former Xavier basketball player Dez Wells left after an official visit with Kentucky Thursday without an offer and is visiting the University of Memphis today. The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports he will also visit Maryland this weekend before making a decision where he will play collegiately.

Memphis does have an available scholarship if Wells decides to enroll. However, he would likely have to sit out a year per NCAA rules unless he applies for a waiver. Wells as previously reported was expelled from Xavier after being arrested on a sexual assault charge last week.
