WPSD reports on its website Lone Oak quarterback Cole Ousley will miss the next 5-7 weeks with a third degree separation on his throwing shoulder. Ousley suffered the injury in Lone Oak’s loss to Paducah Tilghman Saturday night. Lone Oak will face Hopkinsville in the first game of the Jerry Claiborne Bowl Saturday night at the Stadium of Champions. It appears the final game has been scheduled on Murray State’s men’s basketball schedule. Old Dominion will face the Racers in the CFSB Center on Saturday November 24th, according to a report from WPSD on its website. The game will come six days after the Racers compete in the Charleston Classic. Former University of Kentucky athletics director CM Newton is one of four members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame named as this year’s recipients of the Joe Lapchick Character Award. The award is named in honor of former St. John’s and New York Knicks coach Joe Lapchick. Newton and the others will be honored at a luncheon at the New York Athletic Club November 15th. The Baton Rouge Advocate reports LSU has lost one of its basketball players for the upcoming season. Recruit Calvin Godfrey will not enroll for the fall semester, cutting the Tigers roster to 10 players. A news release indicates Godfrey did not meet the academic requirements to attend LSU. Only five players who were on scholarship last season are on the roster, including former Christian County standout Anthony Hickey.
