Kentucky running back Josh Clemons underwent an MRI procedure earlier this week on the knee he injured last season against South Carolina. Running backs coach Steve Pardue tells Kentucky Sports Radio Clemons has sat out the last few days with swelling on the knee and that doctors have not released the MRI results.

The Courier Journal reports Indiana University has lost one member of its prized basketball recruiting class. 6-3 guard Ron Patterson of Indianapolis met the academic requirements to enter IU, but failed to meet them in summer school. Patterson was a member of the Indiana All Star team. Patterson is reopening his recruiting process.

Murray State golfer Patrick Newcomb is continuing his run in the match play portion of the US Amateur at Cherry Hills in Denver. Newcomb is playing Auburn University senior Michael Hebert today and if he wins, Newcomb will play in round of 16 later today.

Major League Baseball this evening has St. Louis hosting Arizona, Cincinnati plays the NY Mets, Atlanta hosts San Diego.

Major League Baseball owners are to vote today to allow the sale of the San Diego Padres from majority owner John Moores to a group which includes PGA Tour player Phil Mickelson. The selling price is $800 million.

The Little League World Series is underway today in Williamsport, PA. The Goodlettsville, TN team is representing the Southeast and will face the Midwest team from Kearney, Nebraska later today.

Two pre season games in the NFL this evening have the Cincinnati Bengals at the Atlanta Falcons and the Cleveland Browns at the Green Bay Packers. The Tennessee Titans return to action tomorrow night against former Christian County High standout Keith Tandy and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While we’re on the Titans, two offensive linemen have been signed in the wake of injuries to Eugene Amano and Mike Otto. Michael Jasper was on Buffalo’s practice squad last season. He was a 7^th round pick out of Bethel and is a native of Mount Juliet, TN. Jonathan Palmer has participated on four NFL practice squads after playing collegiately at Auburn.
