Madisonville North Hopkins High School has a new baseball coach. Scott Marks, who last coached at Hopkinsville High, will take over the Maroons program. Marks also previously coached at South Hopkins and Hopkins Central according to the Madisonville Messenger. Marks replaces Aaron Clark who resigned after going 18-14 this past season.

Major League Baseball action this evening includes the St. Louis Cardinals opening a weekend series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium, Cincinnati hosts Pittsburgh, Atlanta welcomes Houston and the Chicago Cubs are at Los Angeles.

College Basketball: Louisville is among eight teams playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis Holiday basketball tournament Thanksgiving weekend in the Bahamas. The Cards will play Samford in a first round game November 15^th at the Yum Center before heading to the tropical paradise to meet Northern Iowa November 22^nd.

Other teams besides the Cards and Northern Iowa in the field are Duke, Memphis, Missouri, Minnesota, Virginia Commonwealth and Stanford.

College Football: Kentucky’s Joker Phillips met with the media this morning as the Wildcats are back for fall camp. Phillips talked of a number of topics including the hunger and dedication of this year’s team, and that the quarterback and running back positions will be very competitive.

Phillips also announced cornerback Marcus Caffey is ineligible for the upcoming season. Phillips offered no further comment other than to say Caffey will practice with the team and Martavius Neloms will return to cornerback this season.

The Tennessean reports Vanderbilt defensive end Thad McHaney is ending his football career for medical reasons. Coach James Franklin confirmed Thursday McHaney will no longer be on the team. During the off season, McHaney had a situation where there was tingling and numbness in his hands. The diagnosis came to light last week and Franklin says the decision was made at that time.

NFL: Tennessee Titans center Eugene Amano suffered triceps injury during a collision in team drills last night. Coach Mike Munchak says Amano will be evaluated and is expected to be sent for an MRI.

News Channel 5-Nashville reports former Tennessee Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck will announce his retirement from the NFL today. The announcement will be made at an afternoon news conference at Baptist Sports Park. Bulluck spent 10 of his 11 NFL seasons with the Titans and last played for the New York Giants in 2010.
