The Hoptown Hoppers are the regular season champions of the Ohio Valley Baseball League. The Hoppers were idle last night, but Madisonville defeated Fulton 3-2 in 10 innings to give the Hoppers the pennant. The Hoppers will play either Marion or Owensboro in their first playoff series beginning Thursday night in either Marion or Owensboro, with the first home playoff game Friday night at 7:05.
The Hoppers have four games left, doubleheaders this evening at Marion and at Madisonville tomorrow evening.
Elsewhere last night in the OVL--Marion defeated Owensboro 6-5. In addition to the Hoppers doubleheader tonight at Marion, Madisonville plays at Fulton.
The Christian County Outlaws put their 5-1 record on the line this evening in Gridiron Developmental Football League action against the Owensboro Wildcats. Kickoff at the Stadium of Champions is set for 7 pm.
The Kentucky New Era reports former Hopkinsville High Lady Tiger basketball player Katrina Cager has signed to play with Wentworth Military College in Missouri. Cager is the second Lady Tiger to sign joining Ashlee Cole. In all four Kentuckians have signed to play with the Red Dragons program this coming season.
