Kentucky State Police arrested a 75-year old man in Graves County early this morning for allegedly shooting his son in the stomach.

A news release from KSP says troopers were called to a home on state route 534 in Graves County saying a man had been shot. When they arrived, they learned 47-year old Mark Cunningham had been shot by his father 75-year old Adam Cunningham, Jr. following an argument.

Mark Cunningham was taken to Baptist Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, while the father was lodged in the Graves County Jail on Assault charges.

A Clarksville store employee got more than she bargained for Wednesday afternoon when she found a hand grenade inside of a bag she was cleaning, while moving items around as part of her job.

A news release from Clarksville police say the store is located on the 2700 block of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard , where 19-year old Nellee Moore was reorganizing shelving around 4pm and picked up a mesh type bag off one of the shelves and felt it was heavier than it should have been.

Ms. Moore looked inside and, much to her surprise, found the hand grenade. She was, of course, shocked and felt it may be fake. After talking to a co-worker, she decided to evacuate customers from the store and carried the bag with the grenade outside to the back of the business and called 911.

When crews arrived, the area was cordoned off, adjoining stores were evacuated and theMontgomery County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad was called to the scene. The bomb squad inspected and x-rayed the grenade and determined it was not dangerous.

The stores returned to normal operation by 5:30.

A vehicle versus pedestrian wreck Tuesday evening injured a Hopkinsville man.

The incident happened around 6:45 on East 21^st Street, according to the report, which says 48-year old Larry Morrison of Hopkinsville was walking and wearing dark clothing when 25-year old Geanet Arcinega of Hopkinsville struck him with her front bumper.

The driver said she never saw Morrison, who sustained several minor injuries to his body and was treated at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Police estimate she was driving between 30 and 35 miles per hour at the time of the collision.

Someone broke into a Coleman Street residence Wednesday afternoon and got away with a video game system.

The report from Hopkinsville Police says someone broke glass in the door of a home at 1305 Coleman Street between noon and 6:00 and got away with a Playstation 3 and several games valued at a total of $389.

Police say it appeared the perpetrator attempted to kick the door down, but broke the glass after that was unsuccessful.

No suspects are listed on the report.

More details are now known about the single vehicle wreck on Calvin drive that caused a major gas leak and power outages.

The incident happened around 10:40, according to the report from Hopkinsville Police, which says 28-year old Eric Davie of Hopkinsville was eastbound on Calvin when he ran off the road and across a gravel parking lot where it made contact with a wooden telephone pole.

After the collision, Davie’s vehicle struck a mailbox, crossed the lot entrance and struck a gas line—knocking it open. Davie, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown to the passenger side and lodged in between the seat and dashboard, though he said he wasn’t in any pain and only had scratches to his arm. His vehicle came to final rest after colliding with Ben Tire Distributors.

Davie said he believed he blacked out, but no witnesses could confirm it as their line of vision restricted them from seeing him in the vehicle during the wreck. A check through the ECC confirmed Davie was driving on a suspended license.
