Christian County Grand Jury indictments handed down

The Christian County Grand Jury returned 11 indictments today including two cases of criminal abuse and sexual abuse.

The true bill against 22-year old Christopher Tuck of Clarksville includes the charge of 1st degree sexual abuse.

According to Tuck’s indictment, an Oak Grove Police officer states on September 1st, Tuck engaged in sexual contact with a 17-year old female in a car parked at an Oak Grove restaurant located on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

At the time of his arrest, Tuck was employed as a substitute teacher and assistant coach at Fort Campbell high school and the Oak Grove officer reports Tuck came into contact with the minor as a result of his position and was previously found in the closet of the victim’s residence.

Meanwhile, the Christian County Grand Jury indicted a former Fort Campbell soldier for two counts of 2nd degree criminal abuse.

33-year old Benjamin Orin Lovely of Fort Campbell was arrested September 30th after his two small children were allegedly found alone standing in the middle of 41-A at the intersection of J.W. Dixon Road.

According to the officer on the scene, the small children were found surrounded by concerned individuals and the officer allegedly found Lovely and a room-mate at a nearby hotel asleep after consuming herbal incense.

McCracken County Constable accused of sex crimes

A McCracken County Constable is accused of committing sex crimes.

Kentucky State Police say around 11 a.m. this morning Mark Hayden turned himself into the custody of state police detectives at the McCracken County Jail and was arrested and charged with sex crimes after a three month investigation.

State police reportedly received an initial complaint of sexual abuse by Hadyen in September.

According to police, the alleged victim was 15 at the time and the abuse took place over the course of several months, starting in February.

Hayden is charged with 1st degree sexual abuse, 2 counts of 3rd degree sodomy and 3rd degree rape.

The McCracken County Constable remains lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

The investigation into the alleged sex abuse is ongoing and is being handled by KSP Detective Brett Miller.

HPD asks citizens to lookout for vehicle burglar

Hopkinsville Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect who has been rummaging through unlocked vehicles in a city neighborhood.

A news release from Public Information Officer Paul Ray says the crook has been stealing items from vehicles in the Hunting Creek and Givens Edition areas.

Citizens in those areas are encouraged to call police if they notice anything suspicious and to always lock their vehicles. Officer Ray also encourages residents to remove valuables from vehicles to make them less of a target.

Hopkins County wreck injures one

A single-vehicle wreck in Hopkins County this morning injured a Greenville man.

The incident happened just after 1 on Kentucky Highway 254, when 43-year old Donald Gossett of Greenville was westbound when the right side tires of his vehicle dropped off the pavement.

Gossett then over-corrected, according to State Police, who say he crossed the center line and struck a concrete culvert. His vehicle came to rest facing east on the left side of the roadway.

Gossett, who was wearing his seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Regional Medical Center for his injuries.

Clarksville store employee arrested on embezzlement charges

A Clarksville Sears employee has been arrested for allegedly using another cashier’s employee identification to steal nearly a thousand dollars worth of gift cards.

The report from Clarksville Police says 20-year old Shanise Phillips of Southwood Drive, Clarksville allegedly rang up four separate gift cards totaling $942 using the other employees PIN number and did not pay.

Police say Ms. Phillips would eventually admit to the crimes and was arrested and charged with Embezzlement.
