The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating an alleged case of sexual assault that took place yesterday.

The 30-year old female victim told police that a male neighbor had deviate sexual relations with her by force at her Bryan Street residence.

Police say due to the nature of the alleged crime, an individual may be charged with 1^st degree sodomy.

A suspect description was not provided in the report and police say no arrests have been made in this case.

Only a few days remain for area residents to donate money or unwrapped toys for the Hopkinsville Fire Department’s Toys For Tots fundraiser.

Deputy Fire Chief Eric Bleidt says residents can still drop off money or unwrapped gifts at fire stations until this Friday.

According to the Deputy Fire Chief, donations will go towards a good cause and its important to remember children who are less fortunate than others.

Again, area residents have until this Friday to donate and Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp says about 50 kids will have a merry Christmas, thanks to the fire department and from the generosity of area residents.

Fort Campbell’s 506^th Infantry Regiment, 4^th Brigade Combat Team will be saying goodbye, while welcoming a new commander tomorrow.

Military officials will be conducting a change of command ceremony for outgoing commander Colonel Sean M. Jenkins and incoming Colonel Valery C. Keaveny.

Colonel Jenkins’ awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit award, the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Air Assault Badge and Ranger Tab just to name a few.

Meanwhile, Colonel Keaveny’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Superior Unit Award.

The change of command ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the 101st Airborne Division Parade Field.

A two-vehicle wreck in Muhlenberg County this morning sent two people to the hospital.

The report from State Police says 45-year old Timothy Richmond of Greenville was southbound on U.S. 431 around 8:30 and stopped to make a left turn.

28-year old Samara Cantrell of Central City was also southbound and did not stop in time to avoid a rear-end collision.

Richmond was taken by ambulance to Muhlenberg Community Hospital, while Ms. Cantrell was taken by private vehicle to the same hospital. A 2-year old passenger of Ms. Cantrell went uninjured in the incident.
