A wreck in Hart County Monday morning claimed the life of a Cave City man.

The incident happened around 11:15, according to State Police, who say 46-year old Edward Green of Cave City was westbound on state Highway 88 when he crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by 64-year old Noel Johnston of Munfordville.

Green was taken by ambulance to a landing zone where a helicopter was to pick him up, but police say he died from his injuries before the helicopter took off. He was pronounced dead at 11:49 by the Hart County Coroner.

Johnson is listed in stable condition at the University of Louisville Medical Center after being taken there by helicopter. Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the wreck.

The man accused of shooting and paralyzing a Fort Campbell soldier at his homecoming party in California Friday night has been arrested.

Fox News reports 19-year old Ruben Ray Jurado is charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting 22-year old Christopher Sullivan, who was reportedly attempting to break up a fight between his brother and another man which began with an argument over football.

Sullivan was a Purple Heart recipient after sustaining a cracked collarbone and brain damage in an attack by a suicide bomber earlier this year in Afghanistan. He had been recovering from his wounds on Fort

Campbell before being allowed to go home to California on leave late last week.
The bullet allegedly fired by Jurado struck Sullivan’s spine, leaving him paralyzed.

Kentucky State Police released a condition update on two people who were involved in a three vehicle wreck that claimed the life of a 61-year old woman on Christmas.

Police say 17-year old Logan Keeney is listed as stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and 63-year old Larry Williams is listed as stable condition at Greenview Hospital.

As previously reported, state police say 17-year old Logan Keeney of Bowling Green was southbound on the Natcher Parkway near the 10 mile-marker around 3 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and veered into the northbound lanes and struck two vehicles head-on.

According to state police, the first vehicle was driven by 63-year old Larry Williams of Morgantown and the second by 58-year old Billy Byrd of Morgantown.

Williams was taken by ambulance to Greenview Hospital, while his passenger—61-year old Kathenia Williams of Morgantown—was pronounced dead on the scene.
State Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the fatal collision.

The 30-year old Hopkinsville High School alumni says she can’t wait to start her new job at the museum in January and spoke about how her education seemed to be a perfect fit for the job.

According to the Hopkinsville native, her new job is a dream come true and a chance for her to give back to a community that has already given so much to her.

Pennyroyal Area Museum Board Chairman Dave Fernandez previously told Hopkinsville City Council that he was proud to be able to bring a local resident back to the community for a great employment opportunity.

A Hopkinsville man is accused of committing drug related offenses including trafficking in marijuana.

Early this morning, officers responded to an apartment located at 1404 Canton Street in reference to narcotics activity and when officers arrived and knocked on the door they observed 47-year old Charles Wayne Moore running to a room at the back of the residence.

When officers received permission by the renter to enter the residence, they found several baggies of marijuana, a grinder and rolling paper commonly associated with drug use.

Following the search, Moore was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.

Police also cited 34-year old Christina Carman for possession of marijuana.
