One injured in Hopkins Co. wreck

A Madisonville woman was injured on a wreck on the Pennyrile Parkway last night in Hopkins County.

State Police say 32-year old Chersie Johnson of Madisonville was southbound just after 7pm and was attempting to make a right turn on to exit 42.

35-year old Michael Smith of Cadiz was also southbound and reportedly rear-ended Ms. Johnson. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, with Ms. Johnson taken to Regional Medical Center and Smith going uninjured.

Christian Co. Sheriff's Office investigates burglary case

Over two-thousand dollars worth of possessions were allegedly stolen from a Dawson Springs home earlier this week.

54-year old Mark Hamby told Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies Wednesday that unknown suspects forced their way into his Dawson Road residence and stole two lap tops and a 42 inch flat screen tv.
According to Hamby, the stolen items were taken from the living room and the suspects then fled the scene.

A suspect description was not provided in the report, but sheriff’s deputies say the case remains open.

Hopkinsville man killed in morning wreck

A Hopkinsville man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on the Pennyrile Parkway early this morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Captain Chris Miller says 45-year old Tyler Woodrow of Hopkinsville was southbound on the Parkway near the 2 mile-marker and was attempting to pass another vehicle when he ran off the roadway.

Woodrow lost control of his vehicle, causing it to flip and come to final rest upside down on the highway. Police say he was ejected from the car, and was found lying next to the wreckage when crews first arrived.

EMS crews treated him on the scene and he would later die at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Police are working to determine if there were any other factors involved in the wreck. It was not determined if he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.

Hopkinsville Police investigate tire slashing

The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating an alleged criminal mischief case.
60-year old Charles Dillard reported to police yesterday that someone cut all four tires on his vehicle.
According to Dillard, his vehicle was parked outside a business located at 1029 7th Street when an unknown person cut his tires and he told police he had know idea who may have done it or why.
Police say Dillard was able to replace the damaged tires for $800.
A suspect description was not provided in the report, but police say they are following up on all leads regarding this case.

Refrigerator and oven stolen from local home

Over a thousand dollars worth of household items were reportedly stolen from a Hopkinsville residence.

23-year old Dlisha Payne told Hopkinsville Police yesterday that an unknown suspect forced entry into a 13-06 West Cherry Street residence Wednesday and stole a Maytag refrigerator and oven worth $1,050.

A suspect description was not provided in the report.
