HOLMES

A Graves County man is accused of attempting to set fire to a home with himself, a woman and four children inside.

Holmes had reportedly shot himself, according to the caller, who said he was possibly still armed. When troopers arrived, they found that he had not shot himself, but had attempted to burn the home down with everyone inside.

Holmes was charged with Arson and five counts of Wanton Endangerment. He also faces charges of Possession of Marijuana and Posession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Tornado touched down in Todd Co. Sunday night

CLIFTYTORNADO

The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down in Todd County during Sunday night’s severe weather.

A survey team was in the northern part of the county yesterday and determined an EF0 tornado touched down two miles southwest of Clifty and went back into the clouds about a half mile northeast of Clifty.

The tornado had peak winds of 80 miles per hour and was about 150 yards wide. The survey team says several trees were downed, a camper trailer destroyed, shingles were blown off houses and a roof was blown off a business.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the tornado, which touched down just before midnight.

Livingston                 Neel

Two young men were arrested for allegedly trespassing on the campus of Trigg County High School yesterday morning.

Cadiz Police say two men were observed inside the school just after 11:30, having not signed in. When an administrator attempted to confront them, the pair allegedly ran to their vehicle in the middle school parking lot.

School Resource Officer Dave Colbert was able to stop the vehicle, with 20-year old Joshua Livingston of Happy Hollow Road and 19-year old Zachary Neel unable to give a legitimate reason for being on campus.

Police say a search of Livingston revealed a pipe commonly used to smoke drugs in his pants pocket and that Neel could not provide proof of insurance on his vehicle and that he wasn’t properly displaying his license plate.

Both men were charged with 1st degree Criminal Trespass.
