Kentucky State Police hosting Farmer Outreach

The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division is partnering with the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service to host another Farmer Outreach meeting tomorrow night.
Kentucky State Police say the purpose of the meeting is to forge enhanced relationships between law enforcement and the agricultural community.
The public meeting is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. in the U.K. Extension Office located at 2850 Pembroke Road in Hopkinsville.
According to KSP, topics that will be discussed will include safety regulations, licensing requirements and new legislation in effect for state farm operations.

Whereabouts of Clarksville man remain unknown
The whereabouts of a missing Clarksville man remains unknown.
Clarksville Police once again are asking for the publics help in locating the whereabouts of Brandon Davone Rushing who was last seen by friends and family on January 23rd around 4 p.m.
Family members, friends and his fiancée told police, it is totally out of character and unusual for Rushing to just disappear.
Rushing was staying with his fiancée in Guthrie, Kentucky and according to his fiancée shortly before he went missing, he was the recipient of threats.
He is described as a six-foot-2, black male, around 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair with a short beard.
Rushing was last seen driving a 2006 Burgandy or Maroon Chevy Suburban with Tennessee Tags of 149-XLF.

Slain soldier had promising military career

A Fort Campbell soldier who was fatally shot last week had a promising military career.
Post officials say the awards and decorations for 28-year old Sergeant Vincent Edward Goslyn Jr. of Cadillac, Michigan include: The Army Commendation Medal; The Army Achievement Medal; The Army Good Conduct Medal; The National Defense Service Medal; The Afghanistan Campaign Medal; The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; The Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon and The Army Service Ribbon just to name a few.
Officials say Goslyn was a Quartermaster and Chemical equipment repairer, assigned to 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 1-59th Combat Aviation Brigade.
He joined the Army in February 2005 and arrived at Fort Campbell in June 2008.
As previously reported, the 28-year old soldier was found dead Friday night in the 400 block of Fidelio road in Hopkinsville as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
His wife, Jessie Goslyn and Jarred Tabor Long of Colorado are now charged with his murder.

Pennyrile Citizen's Corps Council creates DART program

The Pennyrile Area Citizen’s Corps Council has created its first disaster animal response team.

According to Regional Operations Manager Frank Brown, FEMA recently mandated additional training to create the pet-friendly program, which will fall under the community emergency response team program.

In addition, Brown says the DART program should reassure pet owners that their four-legged family member will be cared for during a natural disaster.

U.S. Coast Guard moves Delta Mariner

Recreational river traffic is now open in the area where the Delta Mariner crashed into Eggners Ferry Bridge.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, salvage workers successfully cut the Delta Mariner free from subsurface bridge debris around 10:15 this morning and will continue removing debris now that the ship has been moved a mile away from the crash site.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Jennifer Jessee says the debris removal operation is a five-step process and crews are in phase four in removing debris.

A 25-foot response boat and a crew from the Marine Safety Unit based our of Paducah will remain on site to ensure the safety of salvage operations.

Commercial river traffic at the site has been open for over a week and U.S. Coast Guard officials say the investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
