A former Fort Campbell EMT convicted of having sexual contact with a minor was given probation in Christian Circuit Court this week.

40-year old Edward Carr of Crofton accepted a plea deal which amended his sodomy charge down to 4th degree Assault. Carr allegedly admitted to making a 14-year old girl perform a sex act on him last year.

The plea deal also requires Carr to follow through on a plan to work in Iraq and to pay $250 to the Pennyrile Child Abuse Council.

Burke court martial delayed

BURKE

Fort Campbell officials have announced the court martial hearing for accused murderer Brent Burke has been postponed.

The General Court Martial for Sergeant Brent Burke was scheduled for Monday, but his defense team asked it be delayed.

That motion was granted and officials say a new court martial date must now be set. Burke is accused of killing his estranged wife and former mother-in-law in Hardin County in September of 2007.

He has faced four civilian court trials and those resulted in two hung juries and two mis-trials. Court martials are much different from civilian trials in that it does not require a unanimous verdict among the jury pool to reach a conviction.

One of the alleged robbers was arrested shortly after the incident and subsequent chase Monday evening, but three were able to run away from their vehicle after stopping near the state line on I-24. The suspects and an Oak Grove Police officer exchanged gunfire, but no one was injured.

The men ran into Clarksville neighborhoods and have been sought since then, though their names were just released tonight. Police identify the suspects as 26-year old Christopher Jerome Walker, 23-year old Justin Ladarious Horstead and 24-year old Henry Jerome Brown.

All three are sought on warrants for 1st degree robbery and warrants for other crimes in Clarksville. Police in Clarksville nearly arrested Brown at a motel Wednesday, but he escaped before officers could get to him.
