Hopkinsville mayor Dan Kemp will present keys to another new home to a man whose home was deemed beyond repair this Wednesday.

A news release says the 2002 Kirkpatrick Street home will be presented to Ulysses Poston in a 4:30pm ceremony. Poston’s old house was deemed beyond repair and was demolished.

A new home was constructed on the same site using funds from the Kentucky Housing Corporation Financing Pool and funds from the Community Development Block Grant Recovery funds.

Outlaw Contracting Company performed the demolition duties and Master Builders did the construction of the new home.

The Fort Campbell woman charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of her husband will be arraigned in Christian District Court today via video conferencing.

Officials at the Justice Center say 25-year old Jessie Goslyn will be arraigned using the video conferencing computer software from the Christian County Jail. The practice is common in the cases of accused murders.

The other suspect accused in the Friday night murder of 28-year old Vincent Goslyn, Jr. Friday night on Fidelio Road is still in a Colorado jail. 24-year old Jarred Tabor Long of Grand Junction, Colorado will eventually be extradited from the Mesa County Jail to Christian County to face arraignment on a murder charge.

Vincent Goslyn had only been home from Afghanistan since January 31^st, and one law enforcement official classified Jessie Goslyn and Long’s relationship as “boyfriend-girlfriend.”

Vincent Goslyn was shot to death next to a car near the railroad tracks on Fidelio Road around 8:15 Friday night.

Sheriff Livy Leavell will be among those scheduled to speak.

The Crofton and Kelly Community Organizations will hold meetings open to all citizens of those areas this week.

Crofton Organization spokesman Pete Craddock says the Crofton meeting will be Tuesday evening at 7 at the Crofton Pentecostal Church Fellowship Hall. Kelly Community Organization President Frank Brown says the Kelly meeting will be Thursday evening at 7 at the Kelly Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Madisonville Road.

Brown says everyone is invited and that Christian County Sheriff Livy Leavell is scheduled to appear along with Captain Chris Miller at both meetings to talk about ways to make you less likely to become a victim of crime

He says there will also be presentations on the neighborhood watch program and how that can be an effective tool.

Once again, the Crofton meeting is Tuesday evening at 7 at the Crofton Pentecostal Church Fellowship Hall and the Kelly meeting is Thursday evening at 7 at the Kelly Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

One of the most rampant telephone scams in the country was recently attempted against a Cadiz resident.

Cadiz Police say they were contacted Friday about someone attempting the “grandparent scam” against a resident.

The grandparent scam is where someone calls an elderly person and says their grandchild is in need of help after falling into some type of trouble, usually while traveling outside of the country. Police say the reason given is usually that the child has been arrested in another country and money is needed to be wired in to post bail.

Police say residents should never wire money anywhere before first confirming the whereabouts of the grandchild in question and to report any such suspicious calls to law enforcement. The would-be victim in Cadiz called police and never sent any money to anyone. You can find a list of ongoing scams police know about at cadizpolice.com.

Both suspects accused of being involved in the shooting death of a Fort Campbell soldier on Fidelio Road Friday night have now been arrested.

Arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office this morning was 25-year old Jessie Goslyn of Fort Campbell, who was the wife of the victim—28-year old Vincent Goslyn, Jr.

A few hours later, a coordinated effort with the Colorado Fugitive Apprehension Team out of Mesa resulted in the arrest of 24-year old Jarred Tabor Long of Grand Junction, Colorado.

Captain Chris Miller says information provided by Jessie Goslyn while being interviewed last night resulted in police obtaining an arrest warrant on murder charges for Long.

Both Long and Jessie Goslyn are charged with murder and it is unclear what role each played in the crime that happened 8:15pm Friday near a car on Fidelio, which is just across 41A from the Wal-Mart Distribution Center.

One law enforcement official classified Jessie Goslyn and Long’s relationship as boyfriend-girlfriend.

Vincent Goslyn had reportedly just returned home from Afghanistan on January 31st.
