Cadiz Police are investigating an act of vandalism at an abandoned warehouse.

The incident happened sometime in the last two to three weeks at the old South Central Bell building at the intersection of Wharton Road and Lafayette Street, where someone threw rocks through the building’s windows, doing between 500 and 1,000 dollars worth of damage.

Anyone who has information on who may have done the damage is encouraged to call Cadiz Police.

Over a thousand dollars worth of damage was allegedly done to Christian County School System property early this morning by a Hopkinsville man who was arrested and taken to the Christian County Jail.

The arrest card says 24-year old Justin Miller of Hopkinsville was doing “doughnuts” on the newly constructed Hopkinsville Middle School baseball field on Koffman Drive and that he ran into and destroyed a concrete backstop.

Miller’s alleged actions also left ruts in the field and tore up the grass. Total estimated damage was listed in excess of a thousand dollars. The crime will also undoubtedly have ill-effects on the baseball season, as practices are already well underway.

Miller was charged with 1^st degree criminal mischief and lodged in the Christian County Jail.

A man who reportedly called 911 early this morning without a reason is now in jail after he allegedly became contentious with police.

The incident happened around 2:45 at 109 South Campbell Street, where 49-year old Wayne Thomas Brodie of Hopkinsville allegedly admitted to calling 911. When officers arrived, they reportedly asked Brodie what the problem was, to which he replied “nothing.”

Asked why he called 911, Brodie allegedly said because he could, though with more colorful language. Brodie was advised by Sgt. Mike Felts that calling 911 without an emergency is a crime and Brodie reportedly said it didn’t matter because he was leaving.

Sgt. Felts writes on the arrest card that Brodie was obviously intoxicated and in no condition to safely leave the residence, but ignored police advice that he would be arrested if he left.

Brodie was reportedly told to place his hands behind his back, which he did not do, and was warned that he’d be tased if he continued to disobey police commands.

After several warnings, Sgt. Felts writes he used his taser as Brodie stepped toward him and was then able to arrest the suspect without incident on falsely reporting an incident and resisting arrest charges.

Alcohol was the common theme for police activity through the overnight and early morning hours.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Fernando Rodriguez responded to the Jennie Stuart Emergency Room just after 10 last night the report of a woman causing a disturbance.

When police arrived, they reportedly found 32-year old Jennifer Shewey of Hopkinsville using obscene language and apparently under the influence of alcohol. Officer Rodriguez writes that she had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.

Officers told her several times to calm down and to have a seat, but Shewey allegedly continued to use loud foul language around the other patients in the waiting room.

Shewey is also accused of refusing to get into the police cruiser and of striking a deputy jailer in the groin with her knee.

She is charged with being drunk in public, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault of a correctional officer.

Meanwhile, Hopkinville Police arrested three motorists in the downtown area of the city in the first five hours of the morning for allegedly driving impaired, with one driver having a blood alcohol content of nearly three times the legal limit and another under the age of 21.

Officers say they are focusing on the downtown area as a high collision area and that anyone driving drunk will be caught and arrested.

Hopkinsville Police say the man suspected of robbing a Fort Campbell gas station last month has been arrested in Tampa, Florida.

24-year old Uwa Ken Jesuorobo was arrested today and charged with 1^st degree robbery and 1^st degree criminal mischief.
Jesuorobo is accused of entering the Max Fuel located at 4124 Fort Campbell Boulevard on January 3^rd shortly after 2:00 am and threatened to use a machete while demanding money from the sales clerk.
According to police, before he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, Jesuorobo destroyed the stores surveillance video equipment.

Police say his arrest was made possible by an anonymous tip called into the Hopkinsville-Christian County Crime Stoppers.
