Kentucky State Police released further details about the wreck that took place on KY 189 where a Hopkinsville Police Officer is being credited for saving the life of a teen driver.
According to State Police the two-vehicle injury wreck happened about one mile south of Greenville at approximately 8:35 a.m.
Preliminary investigation reveals that 49-year old Kenneth Haskill of Greenville was driving southbound on KY 189 and 16-year old Zachary Morris of Greenville was driving northbound on KY 189 when Haskill’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck Morris’s vehicle head-on. 
Haskill was reportedly transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment and Morris was flown from the scene to Deaconess in Evansville , Indiana for treatment after he was pulled from his burning vehicle by Hopkinsville Police Officer Shannon-White Tinsley.
The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, Greenville Fire Department, Muhlenberg County EMS , and PHI Air Medical assisted at the scene.

Clarksville Police need your help in locating a missing teen, who was reported missing Thursday afternoon.
According to police, 15-year old Sierra Nicole Simpson was last seen at the end of the school day Thursday outside of Kenwood Middle School and has not been heard from by family or friends since then.
Sierra is described to have blonde hair and blue eyes and has noticeable acne and weighs about 115 pounds.
Anyone with information about the teen’s whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Clarksville Police Department at 931-645-8477.

A Hopkinsville Police Officer saved the life of a man in Muhlenberg County this morning who would have likely died in one of the worst ways imaginable.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Shannan White-Tinsley was on her way to work on KY 189 when she witnessed a head-on collision and told HPD Sgt. Scott Mayes that the victim was passed out in a burning car when she stopped.

Scanner traffic indicated the vehicle was fully involved in flames when local first responders arrived, but Sgt. Mayes says Officer Tinsley had already pulled the victim from the wreckage.

One of the injured in the wreck was taken by helicopter to an area hospital, while at least one other was taken to Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Kentucky State Police will be releasing details.

Several recent incidents in the area of police officers being shot or shot at has seemed to renew a public awareness of just how dangerous that profession can be.

Officers have been shot at and wounded this year in Hopkins and Montgomery Counties and have been shot at in Oak Grove and Todd County. The Muhlenberg County Sheriff and a deputy had a gun pointed at them and were forced to shoot and kill the suspect only a few weeks ago. Thankfully, all of the injured lived and are expected to recover.

Hopkinsville Police Chief Guy Howie cites an elevated level of violence against police in the last couple of years—saying a struggling economy may have something to do with a change in some people’s mindsets.

Chief Howie also says the growing prescription and illegal drug epidemic and alcohol abuse play a large role in his opinion.

Elkton Police Chief Bruce Marklin addressed recent area and local incidents at a Monday evening City Council meeting and asked the community to pray for officers—that this sort of thing would become less common.

National statistics show that 26 officers have died on duty across the country this year, down from 45 at the same point last year, but still above average.

An alleged case of sexual misconduct at a local elementary school is under investigation by Hopkinsville Police.

The incident reportedly happened between November 1^st and March 8^th, with the 11-year old female victim telling police that a listed suspect touched her private areas both above and below her clothes while at Martin Luther King Elementary School.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
