Campbell St. shooting victim critical, but stable
The victim of a shooting on South Campbell St. Sunday night continues to recover at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Hopkinsville Police Public Information Officer Paul Ray says 27-year old Javon Radford of Hopkinsville is in critical, but stable condition at Vanderbilt.
Radford was found lying on the pavement near the intersection of East 1st and South Campbell around 9:10. He was first taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, before being transferred by helicopter to Vanderbilt.
No suspects are listed on the report and Hopkinsville Police continue to look for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Crime Stoppers Tips Line at 887-TIPS.

Name of Clarksville murder victim releaed
Clarksville Police have released the name of the man found dead in a vehicle on Victory Road yesterday morning.
Investigators with the Clarksville Police Department were called to Victory Road around 12:30 Sunday morning after a motorist stopped to check on a vehicle that had run off the road. He told dispatchers he couldn’t wake up the driver of the vehicle and investigators determined the man had been shot.
Montgomery County EMS pronounced 22-year old Taylor Hotzoglou of Clarksville dead on the scene and the area was taped off for a homicide investigation. Police say Hotzoglou was last seen at his home at “The Residences” at 1671 Fort Campbell Boulevard.
Anyone who may have seen him or his dark grey Subaru Impreza Saturday evening is asked to call Clarksville Police. Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says the investigation is ongoing and there is no new information on the case to provide.

Clarksville man charged with abusing his elderly mother
A Clarksville man has been arrested and charged with abusing his disabled mother.
Officers were called to 1551 Golf Club Lane Sunday morning at 10:30 after a nursed called 911. The 81-year old female victim had recently been released from a nursing home into the care of her son—43-year old Marc Johnson of the same address.
The nurse said she told Johnson to not allow his mother to be left alone, but she received no response when she knocked on the door yesterday morning. The nurse, identified as Tammy Petty of Clarksville, forced her way inside and found Johnson’s mother lying in her bed covered in human waste.
The victim is bedridden, diabetic, and not able to care for herself, but Johnson reportedly told officers he didn’t know he couldn’t leave her alone. Johnson was charged with willful abuse of an adult and lodged in the Montgomery County Jail.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Gateway Medical Center for treatment.

Hopkinsville man charged with assault
A Hopkinsville man was arrested on assault charges last night after he allegedly stabbed a woman in the foot with a knife.
Officers responded to the Hickory Ridge Apartment Complex around 10:45 to the report of a disturbance and found 52-year old Carolyn Vincont of Hopkinsville with a stab wound in her foot.
Ms. Vincont told police that 46-year old Lenzy Jackson of Hopkinsville had become angry at her over her vehicle running out of gas and that he held the knife to her throat, threatening to kill her.
The victim said Jackson stabbed her in the foot as she tried to run away. Ms. Vincont was treated for her wound at Jennie Stuart Medical Center and Jackson was lodged in the Christian County Jail on 1st degree assault charges.

Hunters find body in Hopkins Co.
Hunters in Hopkins County found the body of a woman missing since late March Friday.
Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputy Will Coursey says the men discovered the body of 35-year old Brandi Phelps near the old Homestead Mines in Nortonville. The body was taken to the medical examiner’s office in Louisville and was identified using dental records.
Ms. Phelps had been reported missing March 31st from her home in the Nortonville area. Police say there were no initial signs of traumatic injury though the investigation continues and a toxicology report is due in about six weeks.
