Police believe road rage may have been a factor in a rear-end collision on West 7th Street Thursday night that injured one person.
The drivers involved gave conflicting stories, but the Hopkinsville Police report from Officer Matt Overby says 19-year old Trey Shoblock of Hopkinsville had been westbound on 7th preparing to make a left turn onto Wildwood Drive around 9:15 pm.
20-year old Andrew Scott of Hopkinsville was also westbound and apparently rear-ended Shoblock. The report says some type of chase ensued afterward before Shoblock went to a Wildwood Drive address and called police. Scott was soon located at 1604 West 7th. Officer Overby writes the conflicting reports and circumstances led him to determine it was an act of “road rage” over a previous conflict between the two men.
A passenger of Shoblock, 18-year old Lindsey Huddleston of Hopkinsville, was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center to be checked out. Scott was cited for driving on a suspended license.
