More details have now been released on an incident near Lafayette Wednesday night, when a man threatened to kill his girlfriend and responding police officers.

The report says the suspect allegedly assaulted 28-year old Laruie Arbaugh by grabbing her around the throat and holding a gun to her head, while saying he would kill her.

Units from the Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and Hopkinsville Police would all respond shortly before 6pm and set up a perimeter around a field after the suspect ran there on foot.

The accused had been armed with a rifle and threatened to kill any police officer who showed up, but Sheriff’s Office spokesman Chris Miller says police believe his weapons have been accounted for.

The suspect remains at large and is wanted on Wanton Endangerment, Terroristic Threatening and Assault Charges. Captain Miller declined to release the suspect’s name.

Jennie Stuart Medical Center has officially announced the hiring of a new Marketing Director.

Recently brought on as Marketing and Community Relations Director is James Goss, who has nearly two decades of similar experience at hospitals in Virginia and New Jersey.

Goss also has experience working for marketing consulting firms and as a radio and television news director and reporter. He is a graduate of Tulsa University with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications.

A domestic disturbance call led to a standoff with police near Lafayette last night, with the suspect still reportedly at-large.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police responded to Boddie Road near Lafayette shortly after 5:30 to the report of a man armed with a rifle and threatening to harm a female at the residence and any responding officers.

The suspect had fled the home on foot by the time police arrived and he still remains at-large. We’ll have more details on this incident as they become available.

Hopkinsville Police are investigating an alleged sodomy against a child.

Officers were called to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center Emergency Room around 5:30 yesterday afternoon, where a woman said her daughter had been inappropriately touched at her residence.

A juvenile male who is much older than the victim is listed as a suspect on the report, with the investigation ongoing.

It’s never a good idea to harass someone involved in a legal matter with you, but it’s even more detrimental to your case when it’s the prosecutor.

That’s what a woman is accused of doing locally, with Commonwealth’s Attorney Lynn Pryor telling Hopkinsville Police she received threats from a female suspect on Facebook in the past few days.

HPD is investigating the incident as an “Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process” complaint.
