Due to inclement weather all extra-curricular activities for Christian County Public Schools have been either post-poned or cancelled for today.
School officials encourage parents who have questions about the post-ponement to contact their child’s school.
Officials say if necessary more postponements or closures will be announced if the conditions continue to deteriorate.

Christian County Public School officials are offering another Parent University session.

According to school officials, the upcoming session will be on college admission 101, and will be held Tuesday, January 17^th at 6 p.m. In the Hopkinsville Community College auditorium.

According to Communications and Education Director Heather Aubin, CCPS is making strong efforts to increase parent involvement throughout Christian Christian County.

The Communications and Education Director says attending Parent University sessions are a great way for parents to encourage their child to succeed in school.

Again, the next Parent University session will be held Tuesday, January 17^th at 6 p.m. in

the Hopkinsville Community College auditorium.

A phone scam has reportedly been circulating in Trigg County.

Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam is urging residents to use caution and to not give out personal information over the phone, especially to individuals soliciting monetary donations.

According to Sheriff Burnam, a Trigg County woman recently received a call from someone stating they were with locks of love and asked for a donation. This is a scam!
Sheriff Burnam stated he contacted the General Manager of Locks of Love who stated they do not solicit donations over the phone.
Again, Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam wants to remind residents to never give out personal information over the phone to anyone you do not know or trust.

The first real taste of winter weather is forecast for tomorrow, with up to two inches of snow forecast for western Kentucky.

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at 6am Thursday and running through midnight for all of western Kentucky. Snow is expected to push into far western Kentucky around daybreak and make its way eastward through the day.

Forecasts for this event have varied over the last several days, so a lot could change by the time the event is through. Forecasters also say north winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour and higher gusts will cause some visibility problems during the snow showers.

It will the first time this winter area residents will be driving on snow covered roadways if the forecast holds true and Hopkinsville Police Public Information Officer Paul Ray reminds motorists to take it “low and slow” and to look out for other drivers.
