Dossett Waide Yonts
State Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke has made it official—he’s running for re-election.
Representative Dossett had already said he planned to run for a fourth term, but formally filed his papers with the Secretary of State’s office Monday in Frankfort.
Dossett certainly wasn’t happy with how he was re-districted—putting his East Nashville Street mailbox in the 15th District, but he says that won’t deter him from giving it his best shot for another term.
Facing him in the Republican Primary is Madisvonville State Representative Ben Waide, with the winner currently unopposed in the general election, though there is still a week until the filing deadline.
Also filing his papers to run for re-election was State Representative Brent Yonts of Greenville, who will represent Muhlenberg, part of Hopkins and Christian County from the northwest border all the way down to northern Pembroke beginning in January.
Representative Yonts is currently unopposed.

James
An employee of a Hopkinsville daycare was arrested yesterday for allegedly forgetting about and leaving a 2-year old unattended in a van which was being serviced.
The report from Hopkinsville Police says 40-year old Erica James of Hopkinsville dropped a van belonging to House of Angels Daycare off at a tire store just before 3:30.
About 45 minutes later, a mechanic went to bring the van inside and found a 2-year old little girl inside alone and crying. The child had been inside the van, which wasn’t running, in the parking lot on Fort Campbell Boulevard alone for the entire time.
Police say James came back and picked the child up and took her home, but did not tell the mother why she was so late in getting her there.
James was charged with 1st degree Wanton Endangerment and was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
