The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Trigg County High School student Thursday who is accused of bullying.

Few details are provided, but Sheriff Ray Burnam says 18-year old Jermya Davis Love of Cadiz was arrested by Sgt. Jimmy Godair and charged with harassing communications and menacing.

He was booked into the Christian County Jail and bonded out the same day.

Metal thefts continue to be a problem across the country and another air conditioning unit was broken into in Hopkinsville this week.
The report from Hopkinsville Police says 83-year old Wes Craeger told officers that someone broke into a unit at his rental property at 1505 Walnut Street and removed the copper from inside.

Damage to the unit is estimated at $1,500 and no suspects are listed on the report.

Hopkinsville Police are investigating the report of a stolen pickup from a city used car dealership.

The report says a 700 dollar 1993 Ford Ranger was stolen sometime on February 5^th or 6^th from Bob’s Automotive at 127 North Main Street, though it wasn’t reported until Thursday morning.

The truck is red in color with all black wheels and no suspects are listed on the report.

Local residents may soon see an increase in their hurbie curbie rates.
During tonight’s Committee of the Whole meeting, Solid Waste Authority General Manager Tony Sicari told council members the fee increase is necessary because of rising fuel costs and insurance.

After several minutes of discussions, the council decided to table the issue until next month’s committee of the whole meeting.
In other business, a proposal was forwarded to city council to review concerning renovating the second floor of the Woody Winfree Fire and Transportation Museum.

The first phase of the project would reportedly cost over $397,000 with the second phase to cost over $173,000, bringing the grand total of the project to be $571,000.
Grant money will likely by used for the renovation of the second floor of the museum, but will not cover the cost of the entire project.
In other action, council members unanimously agreed to support a Southern Pennyrile Chamber Alliance Legislative Agenda Resolution.
Councilwoman Ann Cherry was absent from tonight’s meeting.

The Hopkinsville Police Department held its second community crime report meeting this afternoon.
Lieutenant Mike Seis reported the police department’s K-9 unit was very busy last month catching criminals.

According to Lieutenant Seis, despite having a record number of wrecks in January, he says the number of wrecks with injuries decreased compared to the same time period last year.
Despite an open invitation for the public to attend the monthly meeting, area residents did not show up to hear about latest crime trends happening in their area.
