CCSO investigating theft of $1,100 cash from local man

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of over a thousand dollars cash from a Crofton man Monday night.

Troy Clark of Crofton told deputies that he was washing a car at 109 Anderson St. when he noticed his wallet had fallen out of his back pocket. Someone with him emptied out a trash can nearby and found the wallet—minus $1,100 that had been inside.

The report says the victim searched the other person described as a friend and did not find the cash.

National Republican Co-Chair coming to Hopkinsville

sday2

Day

The Co-Chair of the National Republican Party will be in Hopkinsville Saturday morning for the Christian County party’s Mass County Convention.

The convention will be at 10am Saturday in the upstairs area of the old Christian County Courthouse, according to U.S. Senator Rand Paul Field Representative Jason Hastert.

Hastert says National Co-Chair Sharon Day could have chosen any of Kentucky’s 120 counties to come to, which makes it an honor for Christian County to welcome her to Hpkinsville.

The influence of veteran Congressman and Hopkinsville native Ed Whitfield probably had something to do with getting Ms. Day to Christian County, with Whitfield also on the list of speakers for the Saturday morning event.

Hastert says any Republican who was a Republican as of the last election in November is welcome to attend the event, where the local party will discuss and vote on ideas they feel should be passed to the state and national conventions to become part of the party platform.

Officers received information early last evening that Horstead was at the Ladd Street address where he was apprehended without incident.

He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where he is being held in connection with the February 1st incident in Hopkinsville.

Horstead and three others were allegedly involved in an armed robbery in Hopkinsville February 1st in Hopkinsville which resulted in shots being fired at an Oak Grove police officer.

The other two--24-year old Henry Jerome brown and 26-year old Christopher Jerome walker--were already in custody.
