The condition of a Clarksville Police Officer who was reportedly shot this morning remains unclear at this time.
According to Clarksville Police, the unnamed officer was shot while he was responding to a report of a shooting near Quick Silver Court.
The officer’s injuries are reportedly not life threatening, but initial reports indicate the officer was shot after a shooting took place in the 3000 block of Quick Silver Court, where man had been shot multiple times.
Several police cars were on the scene of the shooting as of noon today.

A Fort Campbell soldier is charged with murder after reportedly admitting to police that he shot his wife near Oak Grove in December.

The incident was initially reported by the suspect as a self-inflicted gunshot wound on December 3^rd at 613 South Calvalcade Circle. 30-year old Kathleen McGee died at the hospital that day from her wounds and investigators with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office collected evidence and did multiple interviews.

A news release says detectives began to suspect foul play when lab results showed it likely was not a self-inflicted wound. Police interviewed the woman’s husband, 32-year old Staff Sgt. Michael Korolevich again Wednesday and he allegedly admitted to killing his wife.

He was then arrested and charged with murder and lodged in the Christian County Jail on one million dollars bond.

The Hopkinsville Police Officer arrested on DUI charges in Trigg County Saturday night has resigned.

Hopkinsville Police Chief Guy Howie announced in a news release that 38-year old Officer David Hyde resigned his position Thursday.

The arrest card from Kentucky State Police says Hyde, who resides in Cerulean, was stopped on the shoulder of U.S. 68 near the I-24 interchange just before 7:30.

Kentucky State Trooper Nathan Clinkenbeard writes that he pulled in behind Hyde’s vehicle to see if he needed any assistance. Hyde then reportedly exited his vehicle and walked toward the KSP cruiser.    

The Trooper writes that Hyde said he had been on Facebook and that he left his pickup truck running with the radio playing loud. Hyde reportedly said he had a couple of beers before leaving home.

Hyde initially said he had no open containers of alcohol in his truck, but later admitted he did, according to Trooper Clinkenbeard, who says Hyde failed field sobriety tests.

The Trooper also writes that Hyde had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. He reportedly refused to submit to taking a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content level.

Officer Hyde was charged with DUI and having an open alcohol container in his vehicle. Due to his resignation, police say there will now be no internal investigation.

Clarksville Police is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspected shoplifter who allegedly stole over a thousand dollars worth of merchandise from a Madison Street business earlier this week.

According to Clarksville Police, the unknown female stole two IPADs worth $1,500 from a business located in the 2300 block of Madison Street.

Police say on Tuesday the suspect asked a sales clerk to get two IPADs out of the case so she could purchase them and then the suspect asked to be shown a flat screen television and at some point, the IPADs were left unattended and the unknown female went behind the counter and stole the two IPADs.

The unknown female reportedly left the store in a dark colored vehicle and anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Tipsline at 931-645-8477.

A three-vehicle wreck on West 7^th St. yesterday afternoon sent one of the drivers to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

The incident happened around 1pm in front of Cayce’s Pharmacy, according to the report from Hopkinsville Police, which says 65-year old Carolyn Smith of Cerulean was stopped and waiting to make a left turn and that 44-year old Joseph Foster of Hopkinsville was stopped directly behind her.

41-year old Kimberly Risner of Hopkinsville was approaching them from behind and attempted to stop too late, striking Foster in the rear and pushing his vehicle into Smth’s.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt, with only Foster requiring a trip to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for neck and back pain.
