The couple accused of murdering a Fort Campbell Soldier on Fidelio Road earlier this year faced arraignment in Circuit Court this afternoon.

Pleading not guilty to murder charges in Christian Circuit Court were 25-year old Jessie Goslyn of Fort Campbell and 24-year old Jared Tabor Long of Colorado.

The suspects were indicted last week and are accused in the February 2^nd shooting death of 27-year old Vincent Goslyn, Jr. of Fort Campbell.

Police say Jessie Goslyn lured her husband to a remote area of south Christian County on Fidelio, knowing that Long would meet them there to do him harm. Long is accused of being the man who pulled the trigger.

Vincent Goslyn had only been home from Afghanistan for about three days when he was murdered.

May has been officially designated as Military Appreciation month.
Oak Grove Mayor Dan Potter and Hopkinsville City Councilman Charlie Henderson made the proclamation this afternoon during a monthly Christian County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee meeting.
Prior to the announcement, Mayor Potter says he will always remember the sacrifices soldiers have made in defending our nation.
101^st Airborne Division Garrison Commander, Perry Clark and Command Sergeant Major Mark Herndon accepted the proclamation on behalf of 101^st Airborne Division Commanding General, John McConville and thanked everyone in attendance for their continual support in the military.
Command Sergeant Major, Mark Herndon stated without the support of the community, soldiers would not be able to fight on, especially when times get tough.
Throughout this month, local officials are encouraging residents to celebrate Military Appreciation month by visiting military-friendly businesses and to thank soldiers for their service and sacrifice, especially since the country has been at war for nearly a decade.

A horrific scene unfolded at a Clarksville hotel last night, where a man was charged with rape, assault and kidnapping.

Clarksville Police say a 25-year old woman covered in blood and crying showed up at a Holiday Drive hotel around 8:30 and asked for a vacant room. She also asked the clerks to call 911 because she said the guy she was with had killed the father of her children and he would kill everyone else if she didn’t get a room.

The clerks gave her a key and called 911, with 37-year old Emmonie Dion Branch of Hendersonville, Tennessee answering the door when officers arrived at her room. Branch had blood on his hands and the female victim was inside crying hysterically.

About the same time, officers were called to a Needmore Road address, where the woman’s husband had allegedly been killed. The husband was found at the home with a visible injury to his head allegedly caused by Branch running him over with his vehicle.

Branch had reportedly been at the home as a friend of the couple earlier in the day when the two men got into an argument. Branch allegedly threw the husband to the ground and ran him over and forced the woman to leave under the threat that he’d kill her children if she didn’t comply.

She was then taken to the hotel and was sexually assaulted, while her husband was treated for head trauma and bleeding on the brain at an area hospital.

Branch is in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, rape and kidnapping.

Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp is inviting the public to attend the first Community Conversations of the year and voice their concerns to local elected officials.

Mayor Kemp says the event is a great way for local citizens to learn about what’s going on within the city and that he will include his budget address in the event.

Mayor Kemp says the meeting also allows residents to meet with local elected officials and department heads and express their concerns and received immediate feed back from those officials.

The first Community Conversations meeting for the year is scheduled to take place Thursday, May 10^th from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Lackey Municipal building.

The second annual Todd County “Egg-stravaganza” will kick off tomorrow in Elkton.

The carnival rides will begin at 3pm at the Elkton Die Cast property, according to Todd County Welcome Center Director Deborah Sale, who says this year’s event will be bigger than the first.

The festivities get underway in earnest with Bike Night during the evening hours, with live music and plenty of opportunities for family fun. Egg-stravaganza continues through Saturday.
