Tomorrow is graduation day for the two public schools in Christian County and two educators will be the commencement speakers.
Christian County High School will have it's graduation ceremony first at the Stadium of Champions at 5 pm. English teacher Jacob Jones will be the commencement speaker, according to District Spokesperson Heather Aubin, who says Jones is a very popular member of the faculty with this year's graduating class.
Hopkinsville High School's commencement is set for 8:30 pm at the stadium. Fort Campbell Army and Career and Alumni Program Counselor Kyra McDonald is set to address the Tiger Class of 2013.
Project Graduation will begin around 10 pm at the Bruce Convention Center and students will be released Saturday morning at 6. The annual occasion provides a drug and alcohol free celebration for graduates of all four local high schools. Graduations will be moved to the respective high school gyms in the case of rain—though inclement weather is not in the forecast.

The devastation and loss of lives caused by this week's tornado in Moore, Oklahoma has given people across the country cause to review their own plan of action for when severe weather strikes and one local official says that's exactly what everyone should do.
Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham says many survived the violent tornado because they had a tornado plan and stuck with it.
Most people think of Oklahoma as part of “tornado alley,” but Graham reminds residents the strongest tornado of 2004 in the United States happened in Hopkins County. Graham says no area is immune to a twister like the one experienced in Moore earlier this week.
Residents are reminded that the most interior room of the lowest level of your home is always the safest place to be in the event of severe weather.

U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell says he's heard from constituents in Kentucky who feel they were improperly targeted for audits by the Internal Revenue Service during last year's presidential campaign because of their conservative political views.
The Minority Leader didn't go into specifics on the Senate floor, but said he's heard from people concerned about possible wrongdoing in light of the recent I.R.S. scandal.
I.R.S. leadership has said the audits based on political leanings was isolated to “rogue” employees at the Cincinnati office, but Senator McConnell says he believes the misdeeds go higher than that. He says a full investigation of the alleged activity is needed to determine just what happened and when.
House and Senate committees are both holding hearings on the incidents.
