A local man was arrested on DUI charges following a single-vehicle wreck Friday evening on Cox Mill Road.
The Hopkinsville Police report says 69-year old David Underwood of Hopkinsville was southbound just before 10 near the 2600 block of Cox Mill when ran off the road and hit a mailbox. His vehicle continued off the road into a street sign, before finally coming to rest in the front yard at 2615 Cox Mill.
Officer Robert Stokes writes Underwood admitted to drinking before driving and that he failed field sobriety tests. He allegedly blew a .208 on the breath test, well over twice the legal limit. Underwood was arrested and charged with his second DUI in the last five years. No one was injured in the incident.
